For our first release of 2008, we bring you a remix of Cresh Frazy's "Scrabble" by qu.one titled: "Scrabble: The Unauthorized Remix". Not just a remix of a song, but the WHOLE ALBUM. "Scrabble" has been a netlabel staple since it dropped in 2005 — being featured on mixtapes and podcasts all over the world. Being one of his faves, qu.one decided while recently revisiting "Scrabble" that it inspired him to the point that he needed to pay those songs, and Cresh Frazy, back somehow. He figured a reworking of something he deemed so inspiring could be the best compliment.

qu.one released a mixtape on ivdt titled: Classic Freestyle. It features a style of music not known to many, but was big in the late 80s and early 90s — especially on the East Coast. With roots in electro, it featured catchy synth lines stylized vocals and breakbeats. It's an hour long journey into one of America's pop/electronic debuts.

We dropped 2 releases after a laying low for 6 months — now we are back one week later with a brand new release featuring some of your favorite netlabel musicians. "Good Look A_Guth" [ss012mp3] is a remix album that was started by q u o n e. He purposely left it off of last week's release, "Qu One and the Sounds of The Glitchmatik Orckestrah" [ss011mp3] to see what his fellow music makers could come up with from his source material. The results are perfect. Featuring remixes by: mLeep, Resynthesize, Cresh Frazy, Phortran, Headphone Science, Mercury Effect, Short Circuit and Exacta — plus he remixed his own track as well! There is a link towards the bottom of the page to download the whole release in one zip. Enjoy.

We've got two releases for you today - after 6 months of prep work. First is Akwalek's sixteensteps debut with the double EP ""Burst The Hero Under My Pilllow" [ss010mp3]." It's a combination of two small EPs produced in 2006. They tell the story of a chaotic but passionate life in an urban-dream sphere with the message to stay positive and keep believing in the human powers. He shared the stage with people like Chris Clark (Warp rec. UK), Otto Von Schirach (Schematic, US), Coldcut (NinjaTune, UK) and Harry Poppins (Electrobel, BE). This is great entry in our click. Second on the menu is q u o n e' s newest solo full length titled "Qu One and the Sounds of The Glitchmatik Orckestrah" [ss011mp3]" with granular pads and broken rhythms throughout. Slower tempos and distorted and chopped vocal cuts add a new dimension to his sound. Dubstep, Grime, Electro and glitched out Reggae all make their way into this interesting listen. Stay tuned for the follow up single with remixes by some of the best in the sixteensteps family...

Brand new release on sixteensteps: q u o n e' s sixteensteps solo debut "Darker Than Amber [ss009mp3]." Clocking in at just over 45 minutes, this is a dark trip down a short fused, circuit ridden hallway. Eerie soundscapes, pulsating rhythms and melancholy melodies are filled throughout. Crafted from the darker side of his creative being, "Darker Than Amber [ss009mp3]" brings the listener to a place where they might not be safe behind the next turn.

First is mLeep's new release: Lohan's Life Preservers Shall Save Us All [mp3.059] which is "14 tracks of Mleep's usual plunderphonic style; referencing everything from Jay & Silent Bob to Tom Peters, Leeroy Jenkins to Lindsay Lohan and Rush to Jackass. Lohan's Life Preservers Shall Save Us All [mp3.059] is one trippy journey thru the pop culture television dial." Headphone Science has also done the label's first ever podcast - A 30 minute called IVDT Episode 001: A Basic Start which is mash up/cut-n-paste/megamix using 93 tracks of ivdt artist material.
