I developed my Sixteen Steps. A Journey of Self-Discovery and Healing idea concept into a toolbox skills set of Principles. It’s a guide handbook for people to navigate through their personal, career, business life journey.
The use of gender-neutral language may seem unnecessary to some people. However, the consistent use of masculine pronouns provides an impression that women are excluded from the group to which the writer is referring.
Language plays a crucial role in shaping behavior and perceptions. Word choices often unconsciously reflect preconceived and wrongful notions about gender roles, and hence we should make a conscious effort to not use language that stereotypes, constrains, or excludes others.
Interestingly, in centuries past, the pronoun ‘they’ in English was used to refer to someone in the singular without specifying a gender. So this is not a new concept.
Written Religion, God and Gender Free, Sixteen Steps: a journey of self-discover and healing is a Principles approach to life-changing behaviors and recovery that can easily be integrated into any person’s life, regardless of gender, religious belief or none, or your living circumstances.
